Big Nate isn't trying to get into trouble; it just seems to find him. He knows he's destined for greatness, he just isn't sure how to get there. One day he discovers a fortune: today you will surpass all others. This is exactly what he's been waiting for! But things won't go exactly the way he plans...This was a very fun book to read. Lincoln Peirce's words and pictures work so well together (I wasn't familiar with the Big Nate comic strip, so this was my first exposure to his work). There's a smartness to Nate - he has a very sharp eye for the people around him - that balances out his goofiness. Older readers will likely be able to guess just how Nate will surpass all others well before Nate clues in, but finding out how he will get there was a pleasant journey.
