If you had a garden, what would you plant in it? Carrots? Flowers? This little girl would definitely have jellybean bushes, giant tomatoes, magicly regrowing flowers, and chocolate rabbits. Kevin Henkes accompanies the delightful fantasy with soft, colourful illustrations that bring this dream world to life. Henkes is one of my favourite writers for young children (Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse is one of my absolute favourite picture books), and this is a lovely addition to his books for preschoolers. The story reminded me of the song that says if all the raindrops were lemondrops and gumdrops, oh what a world it would be!Find it at IndieBound.
